Text Review Roundup: "A Rockhoof and a Hard Place"

Note: due to the "Parental Glideance" continuity issue with "The Washouts", Derpy News has decided to downgrade that episode's rating from A- to B.

Right, back to this week's ep. For whatever reason, there's no review from Cuddlepug this week, something which is a rare event. Rainbine's DA account also seems to have disappeared, so I'm afraid the slate isn't very long this time. From those who did write reviews, the general reception was very positive, and I find myself one of the few text-based reviewers not blown away by the episode.

Derpy News – very positive (graded A; "as close as this show will get to hinting at suicide [...] in the top tier for this season")

The Dragon Warlock – extremely positive (graded A; "I can easily say this is the best episode of the season so far [...] a superb episode with a great moral [and] solid character development")

JDPrime22 – very positive (rated 9/10; "I really did enjoy [it and] Rockhoof became more of a character this time around")

Lightening McQueen – positive ("awesome to see an episode focused on one of the Pillars [...] the humour was also amusing")

Louder Yay – fairly positive (rated 3/5; "one of those episodes that flickers and sparks quite a bit, but never quite catches fire to burn with a steady flame")

Mega Sean 45 – very positive ("this gave [Rockhoof's] character so much development [and] Yona provided such compelling influence")

MLEEP Reviews – fairly positive (rated 7.5/10; "The friendship between Yona and Rockhoof [was great, but] the first half of the episode mostly relied on repetitive humor")

The Railfan Brony – very positive (rated Excellent; "It was great to expand more on Rockhoof's character, as well as Yona's, and the theme and story are brilliant.")

ShutterflyEQD – very positive ("a very relatable episode [...] really does teach important values")

  1. Wow, for once I'm actually with the text reviewers! :O I really liked that one, and still do despite having the flaws pointed out.

What's the continuity error mentioned at the top?

    1. Scootaloo's album in PG has more than one picture of Rainbow and Lightning Dust flying together, so it's strange that in the new episode Scoot talks as though she doesn't know about the connection.
