Judging by the comments on my review of "Hearth's Warming Eve", I seem to be just about the only person around here who actually likes "The Heart Carol". Well, I do. And the extended version even more so. I had been looking for a nice PMV of it, but I couldn't find anything that really grabbed me. I did, however, find 174UDSI's remix of the shorter, show version of the song. I find this one rather catchy as well, so there. :P
Well, contrary to the sample size of 4 people who didn't like it, I rather enjoy the Heart Carol :). Enough so that I did a trumpet cover of the extended version about 3 years ago. The original scene is fairly cute with all the ponies singing happily together. Admittedly a sunny April isn't the ideal time to be watching it! Around Christmas time though it's lovely to listen to.

ReplyDeleteIt is indeed from the Christmas album, but we'll have to disagree on it being dumb - canon breaking and faintly baffling, sure, but for my money, Fluttershy's "Silent Night" is beautiful, Rainbow Dash's "Jingle Bells" is awesome, and "Days Gone By" (Applejack's version of Auld Lang Syne) is heartbreakingly lovely.

It's the one I linked to near the end of my "HWE" review. You have to be careful, as some "extended" versions on YouTube only feature one verse and the chorus, as opposed to the two-verse version that was on the Christmas album.
Delete"Baffling" is definitely the more appropriate term. :)
