What? "Beyond Her Garden"
Who? WoodenToaster/Glaze
Which? Original song
When? October 2011
Why? Nostalgia has a lot to do with this one, as "Beyond Her Garden" was one of the first brony songs I ever heard, back in spring 2012 – and it wasn't new even then! This sort of somewhat glitchy electronic... stuff (you can see my technical knowledge is coming on apace) has rarely been my favourite genre, but I like a surprising amount of such songs in this fandom. Why this one in particular, then? I don't know. But it's still the best Carrot Top song around, more than five years after it arrived.

ReplyDeleteWas going to say this was electroclash, but now that I think about it, it's too modern feeling. I guess it's kinda glitched-out vocal trance.
ReplyDelete*nods head vigorously* Yeah. What he said. :P
DeleteI still listen to this quite regularly. Most of Wooden Toaster/Glaze's stuff holds up.
ReplyDeleteThat's true. I expect if I go on with this long enough, there'll be more of his songs.
DeleteI really wish I liked this song more, given that it's basically the most famous Carrot Top thing out there. Sadly, "kinda glitched-out vocal trance" isn't really my jam. It still makes me happy that it exists, though.
ReplyDeleteIt isn't my jam, either. It's weird: I get this a lot in the fandom. Alex S's remix of the show theme, for example, is nothing like my usual style of music, yet I've come to find it immensely catchy.
