Actually I'm mildly enjoying it, in a this-isn't-very-important kind of way. But in truth I'm mostly watching it so that I can understand the reactions a friend has to the episodes. Even then, I'm going much more slowly than they are – and I mean much more slowly: I'm currently on S1E13! As it happens I do know what happens in S1E14 as I was spoiled on it long ago, but that doesn't matter to me; the episode title is a spoiler in itself. For now, I shall keep on plodding on. :)
I mean, whatever one's opinion of Pony Life (I'm only a small way in myself, I liked the one with Applejack's hat and the mysterious cubes but otherwise it feels like a disorganised mess, and this is from someone who actually liked T**n T****s Go) - whether you like it or not, surely "plodding" and "mildly" are words the creators never wanted to hear associated with their ostensibly zany breakneck-paced show!
ReplyDeleteAnd here's me, who is apparently the only person remaining on this Earth who has never once seen an episode of TTG! :D
DeleteThe "AJ's hat" episode seems to be one of the very few that most people like -- see also Pascoite's comment below. I liked it too.
I have never seen Teen Titans Go! either, though nor have I seen the original Teen Titans show. As a result, the comparison is officially meaningless to me.
DeleteAlthough I think there are already plenty of reasons to avoid watching Pony Life.
It was a decent series overall with a few outlier episodes, both good and bad. The episode about AJ's hats was probably the best one. I still have no idea what the deal is with Fluttershy's size changing with her moods.
ReplyDeleteAll I could figure out is they each have a 'power' of some kind.
DeleteTwilight literally falls to pieces. Pinkie inflates and explodes. Fluttershy changes size. AJ I guess can break the fourth wall? I forget what Rarity did, and I never quite figured out Rainbow. Like, she can time travel or something maybe.
This doesn't explain it by any means, but it does make slightly more sense.
