At least Tony Fleecs used the right manestyle |
This team-up was always going to happen, unexciting as it is.
Ted Rob Anderson writes a reasonably effective, if not amazing, story and it's nice to have a bit of Star Swirl again. (Not appearing in pony, sadly.) Jay Fosgitt's art is... well, Jay Fosgitt-y. If you hate it, this won't change your mind – especially as he gives Starlight her pre-reformation mane design. Spike plays a fun supporting role this time, and the ending is a little less rushed than sometimes. A moderately entertaining
Friends Forever issue. ★★★
Anderson, my least favorite writer, and Fosgitt, my least favorite artist. I think I'll skip this one.
ReplyDeleteTypo on my part re the writer: it's by Rob Anderson, not Ted. Doesn't otherwise affect my review, though.
DeleteActually Ted Anderson didn't write this one Ben Anderson did. As for the artwork I feel that Fosgitt isn't even trying anymore.
ReplyDeleteSorry ment to say Rob Anderson.
DeleteFixed! Thanks! (To "Rob", yes.)
DeleteI'm actually okay with Fosgitt's style. I don't like it when he doesn't do his research (eg Starlight's mane) or when he makes ponies bipedal all the time, but the general style is fine.
